The ECHS Senior Celebration was a beautiful event to both celebrate the ECHS Class of 2019, and their individual accomplishments. The night of May 16th began with a stirring piano duet by Angela Mo and Juliana Struyk, followed by a warm introduction and prayer by Jax Revfi. Mr. Ben Fuller then addressed the class, and the Honors Choir Seniors performed “Be Unto Your Name.” Cassidy Vander Eems, Victoria Ghinelli, and Gabrielle Tse all gave their own student reflections, and the AP art students were then able to showcase their work on a slideshow. It was then time for the Senior Recognition and Awards.
All the students choose one teacher who knows them well and can speak to their spiritual growth. These spiritual growth statements were read as the students walked on stage to receive their certificates. When all of the students had walked across the stage to received their certificates and to hear their spiritual growth awards, Mr. Phil Verrengia asked the audience to join him in praising God for this class. The crowd, who was silent throughout the procession so that each spiritual award statement could be read, erupted in applause. This was followed by the seniors singing their class song, “Who You Say I Am.” Everyone in the class sang in unison and with passion. It was powerful moment for everyone in the auditorium. In summary, this was a special night for the seniors, their family, and the EC community as a whole.
